Should I repair or replace my old windows?
In our experience, most repairable issues — drafts, stuck sashes, broken hardware — cost a fraction of replacement and extend the life of good old-growth wood windows. We'll give you a straight opinion, and if replacement truly makes sense we'll say so and refer you out rather than sell you something we shouldn't do.
Can you fix a door that sticks only in summer?
Yes — that's classic New England humidity swelling. We'll find where it binds, plane or adjust the right spots, and leave enough clearance for winter shrinkage so it works year-round.
Do you install pet doors?
We install cat and dog doors in wood doors and, where practical, in wall sections. For glass-panel doors we recommend a glazier, and we'll tell you that up front.
Can you re-key or replace my locks?
We install and replace knob sets, deadbolts, lever handles, and smart locks. If you need a full re-key of many cylinders, a locksmith may be more efficient — we'll tell you honestly which fits.
Will you match old trim when repairing?
We repair and patch existing trim whenever possible. When a piece is beyond saving, we match profile and paint it to blend — old-house details deserve patience.
